GuideMe
Treasure hunts around Iceland. Walk to the spot, hear its story, solve the challenge.
GuideMe turns a walk into a treasure hunt. Stops appear on the map as an X and unlock when you walk to them. Each one tells you the story of that place, then sets you a task.

How a hunt works
-
Pick a hunt
Each hunt covers its own area — a neighbourhood, a stretch of coast, or a trail out in the countryside.
-
Set off
Stops are marked with an X on the map and you decide the order. Hunts are free-roam — there is no fixed route to follow.
-
The stop unlocks
When you reach the X, the stop opens and tells you about the place: what happened here, who lived here, how it got its name.
-
Solve the challenge
Every stop comes with a task — a quiz question, a photo assignment or a drawing. Solving it earns points.
In the app
Free-roam
You choose which X to take next. A hunt is an area, not a line.
The story on site
Every text is written for that particular place and appears when you are standing on it.
Challenges
Quiz questions, photo tasks and drawings. Your photos never leave your device.
Points and leaderboards
Points add up as you solve tasks. Leaderboards show an anonymous handle, never your name.
Two languages
Every hunt exists in both Icelandic and English.
No account
No sign-up, no email address, no password. You just start walking.
Availability
Coming to the App Store and Google Play.
GuideMe is in development for iOS and Android. Store links will be added to this page once the app is released.
